1.  Community work with orphans in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Volunteer from Min 1 week - Max 12 weeks. Cost US$ 1295.00 for 1 week; US$ 220.00 for every week thereafter.

Don’t let Vietnam’s relaxed attitude to life fool you; there’s so much here to see, visit, and taste! And as if the floating markets, bustling streets and emerald paddy fields aren’t enough you will also experience the famous Vietnamese hospitality as you get involved with playing games, singing songs and planning arts projects in one of a number of local orphanages. You’ll play a valuable role in the overall development of the children and your efforts will last long after the sun tan fades! If you enjoy a challenge this project is the perfect way to discover why Vietnam is becoming one of the hottest destinations in Asia and have lots of fun while you do it. Providing general care and assistance in looking after the children, some of which have special needs. This will involve playing games, teaching English & basic life skills. 2.  Teach English in Hanoi, Vietnam

Min 4 weeks - Max 12 weeks; US$ 1865.00 for 4 weeks, US$ 220.00 for every week thereafter.

Nowhere sums up modern Vietnam better than the city of Hanoi; bursting with a rich cultural history expressed through temples and colonial architecture yet entirely at home with the modern world of espressos and internet cafes. The contrast produces one of the most captivating cities in Asia and you’ll never tire of exploring it. Our partner project is similarly deserving of your attention as we work with several state primary schools throughout Hanoi which offer English skills to eager young pupils, some of whom have special needs. The schools are usually quite large so you’ll have your hands full, but fear not, we’ll include our TEFL course when you book to help you make the biggest possible impact.

3. Work with orphans and special needs children in Hanoi

Min 2 weeks - Max 12 weeks. US$ 1535.00 for 2 weeks; US$ 220.00 for every week thereafter.

Hanoi is the engine room of Northern Vietnam, a frenzy of activity in stark contrast to the laid back attitude of the rest of the country, which is left to don its non la (straw hat) and tend the patchwork of fields and rice paddies in relative peace. The hustle and bustle is well worth investigating and your reward is a fantastic old city rediscovering itself in the face of new influences and full of refreshing public parks and lakes. Volunteers in this great city split their time between two projects; one helps youngsters suffering from the effects of Agent Orange, the devastating chemical weapon used in the Vietnam War; and the other, a children's home giving much needed support to orphaned and abandoned children.

4. Vietnam Adventure

Min 4 weeks. US$ 2295.00 for 4 weeks.

From the very start of your trip in Ho Chi Minh City you'll be faced with the wonderful sights and sounds of one of South East Asia's most vibrant and fascinating countries. From the beauty of the Mekong delta to the picture perfect town of Hoi An, the stunning sights of Halong Bay to trekking in the mountains around Mai Chau - your first two weeks really do take you everywhere you could want to see, and more. Vietnam is a hugely varied country with more to do and see than you could ever wish for. It's also a great fun place to explore with friendly and sociable people happy to share their country with travellers.  After this incredible introduction to what the country has to offer you will then spend two weeks living with a rural community (an incredible experience on it's own) helping them to build much needed wells. So, not only do you get a real insight into what Vietnam is really like, you also make a lasting and positive impression on a local community - what a fantastic combination.

5. Vietnam Discovery

Min 2 weeks; US$ 2195.00 for 2 weeks.

Be prepared to get away from it all and savour all that Vietnam has to offer. From the hustle and bustle of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city to the stunning islands of Ha Long Bay and the ancient town of Hoi An, this trip really does take you to all the great sights (and a fair few off the beaten track!) of what is a wonderful and rewarding country. During your 2 ½ days time living with a hill tribe community you'll have the opportunity not only to get an understanding of local life but also to pass on your language skills to the local children. Travelling by train, boat and car you'll get to experience Vietnam from the inside led throughout by our expert local guide. See more detailed information--click here.

6. Build homes for underprivileged families in Vietnam

Min 2 weeks - Max 12 weeks; US$ 1295.00 for 2 weeks, US$ 220.00 for every week thereafter.

The source of Vietnam’s lush beauty is also a cause of real problems for the local population. The monsoon rains that paint the island a deep green also wreak havoc on the poorly constructed houses – and that’s where you come in! You’ll be working with one of our partner projects south of Ho Chi Minh City re-housing as many families as possible, all supervised by trained professionals (just to make sure they stay standing!). You’ll spend your time near the famous Mekong Delta which is well worth a visit and a roll or two of film from your camera, just make sure you leave enough for the jungles, mountains and rice paddies that litter the landscapes as well as all the friends you’ll make from the local communities.

7. Community work with special needs children in Vietnam

Min 2 weeks - Max 12 weeks. US$ 1395.00 for 2 weeks, US$ 200.00 for every week thereafter.

This project is set in the unique city of Hanoi, and it’s a place that’ll grab hold of you and never let go. Finally casting off the legacy of the Vietnam War and opening itself up to the world, it has managed to keep the spirit of the past alive and you’ll find it a captivating blend of old and new. Our partner project in the city, which supports children with special needs, will capture your heart too. You will join the dedicated staff helping children suffering from autism, Downs syndrome and Japanese encephalitis as well as the effects of Agent Orange, one of many damaging legacies of the War.

8. Teach English in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Min 2 weeks - Max 12 weeks. US$ 1260.00 for 2 weeks, US$ 220.00 for every week thereafter.

Vietnam is a country made famous by war but slowly gaining a reputation as a great travel destination. Put off first by the fighting and then by the memory of fighting the country has avoided the mass influx of tourists. Despite cosmetic alterations in the shape of shopping malls and coffee shops, Vietnam retains its traditional character. Based in the Mekong Delta amongst a patchwork of rice paddies we work with a number of projects teaching English to young children. Few Vietnamese school children have the opportunity to practice skills such as conservational English. Having a native English speaker around means the kids can have a break from the textbooks and learn through drama, debates, games and songs. To help you prepare we also include our TEFL certification when you sign up to the project.
