Hi Kathy, Sorry for the delay, it's been very busy since we got back. We had a great time - you picked good B&Bs for us (some better than ones here at home!!!). Sharon & Johny at the Redbourne Hilltop were great - they made sure we knew where & what we were doing all the time. Really liked the place in Hermanus on the coast also - we saw one whale while we were eating lunch. The Game Lodge was very relaxing (nice break from driving).

Thanks again for helping us with a great trip!! Gretchen

We have returned from South Africa and Zimbabwe over a week ago and are still on an high from the energy of World Cup and sites, sounds, and spirit of the people of Africa. Three weeks of non-stop action including soccer games, shark diving, Table Mountain hiking, gourmet dinning at value pricing, and six safaris at three sites, just to name a few activities.

Kathy was able to put together a very tightly scheduled vacation (7 in-country flights)with great accommodation choices. For others planning a trip we strongly suggest you add Figtree Safari Lodge at Addo park and Vic Falls to your itinerary

Kathy worked very hard to put together the trip of our dreams - to South Africa. It contained a little bit of everything over a 30-day period. We're at about day 18 and I can say her work is well-appreciated. The individual tours and tour guides, the hotels, the car rental, the many internal flights, and our safari lodge were all perfect - and in the case of the Kapama safari lodge, exceeded all possible expectations. The entire trip has made me smile broadly on a daily basis. We're about ready for our afternoon game drive! Gotta go. Thanks so much, Kathy.

The trip to China that Kathy Moroney prepared for my wife and me was a revelation as to how simple and easy it can be when you put yourself in the hands of the right person.

After a few email exchanges and some telephone conversations about our desires and our eccentricities, Kathy came up with recommendations that were exactly on target to meet our demanding requirements. She instinctively knew what we were looking for and what we were not. Her insights were remarkable in pinpointing the highlights of our trip and her efficiency and concern made it a delight to work with her.

Kathy’s swift responses to the emails I sent her at all hours of the day or night (even when she was traveling and was on a different continent)leads me to believe that she never sleeps and works 24 hours a day.

We are home less than one week from our Safari in Botswana. After experiencing Kenya and Tanzania in the past, Botswana was very different. It was about desert, deltas, game viewing and adventure. We camped for a good part of the journey which is something we have not done since our kids were young. We are proud grandparents of 8 and still looking for experiences to remember and pass on in our Memoirs. Africa Safari is best done as a tour. Independent travelers do not fair well and the best photographs are gotten with a guide and driver that knows their country. Kathy did a splendid job researching and providing a Safari that was within our budget. Botswana can be an expensive vacation and in a stiff economy, we were able to continue to have adventures. The service, care and consideration, particularly because we were connected to an Agent and a reputable Africa Travel Company makes all the difference. Kathy stayed connected all the way. Because of her professionalism, the Tour Company in Africa, went the extra mile to keep us happy and provide an excellent Safari. This came true especially when there was a glitch in the itinerary and the first half of our limited time was altered and needed to be fixed quickly and efficiently. We were literally carried through the rough spots on a silver cloud and gently placed on the right page of our Botswana Adventure Story. Thank you Kathy and Destinctive Destinations. We will connect again for our next Life Experience.

Hi Kathy,

Thank you and it was an amazing trip, more complex than our usual travel.

There was a mix up which Bob picked up before we left regarding our flight itinerary and arrival in Cairo. Bob had called Y'Alla Tours and your office and fortunately that was addressed and our transfer from Cairo Airport to the hotel went smoothly

Y'Alla Tours did a great job in Cairo. The Grand Hyatt was magnificent, an excellent choice although we didn't really take advantage of hotel's activities. Touring kept us very busy, but I think we both recognize that more time in Egypt is something to plan for in the future including a trip down the Nile. Asam, our Tour Guide did an exceptional job providing in-depth historical discussions on all the points of interest we toured. Maget, our Tour Coordinator we also enjoyed. He clearly wanted to ensure that all our needs and questions were addressed and coordinated everything including some evening activities and even our departure from Cairo through security, customs and passport control.

I know you already have heard about the Hotel Lutetia in Paris. Since we weren't in the room very much, it didn't diminish our experience in Paris. It just was disappointing especially since we made the effort in advance of the trip to request a recently renovated room, and Bob had specifically emailed the hotel, at the time we were departing Israel to let them know that we would arrive late, again reminding them of our room request. The hotel was conveniently located near the metro, but not real close to the tennis venue.

The only other point to be made was regarding the flight from Cairo to Tel Aviv. When we arrived at the Cairo Airport for our 2 leg flight (Cairo to Amman, Amman to Tel Aviv) we saw there was a direct flight out of Cairo leaving an hour earlier than our flight which would have gotten us into Tel Aviv much earlier leaving us with an extra half day.

I want to thank you Kathy, you had an challenging assignment and more than surpassed our expectations. We would not hesitate to call you again as well as recommend you.

Regards,

Jane

HI Kathy, Thanks again for arranging our wonderful trip to China this September. We felt we had the best of both worlds, personal local guides and drivers and all your wonderful experience as a tour guide. It was our most hassle free trip anywhere! Also, thanks for being so "there" as we were making our arangments! Celia Anderson Houston, TX.

Dear Kathy,

Thanks for arranging our trip to Ireland. You were very patient with us, since we really didn't have a good idea when we started what we wanted the trip to look like. You worked hard to plan the itinerary that we eventually decided on. Everything went smoothly, and we had a great time. We'd be happy to work with you again sometime.

Hi Kathy,

The study tour you arranged for me and my grad students to Ghana went off without a hitch. The local tour guide and bus driver you selected were friendly, efficient, resourceful and knowledgable. The hotels you selected and the arrangements for specialized tours couldn't have been better. It was obvious that you paid close attention to details which resulted in a stress-free and enjoyable two weeks in Africa for us. I'll certainly be using your services for my next study trip.

Dear Kathy,

I want to thank-you for helping us plan our honeymoon to Aruba! Thanks for passing all your knowledge about the island to us and recommending things to do. The dine around program for Aruba was great since the food there is pretty expensive. We absolutely loved Bucuti Resort. It is indeed a honeymooners’ resort. The beach was right at our footsteps. The sand was pristine white and clear blue waters greeted us. Thanks for giving us your opinions and experience with the various hotels that you knew of. It helped us to pick the right one! We can’t wait to go back there again. Maybe you can help us plan our one-year anniversary!

Warm regards, Pratch & Brandon Stone

Hello Kathy,
My mom and I were members of your March 2006 tour of China. This was our first mother daughter tour vacation and it was FANTASTIC! We had a wonderful time seeing the many treasures China has to offer while avoiding the often stressful hurdles of traveling individually. We enjoyed every city we visited and all of the attractions. The hotels and food were perfect! Our favorite portion of the trip was the cruise down the Yangtze River. It was a superb combination of relaxing scenery watching, informational sessions and adventurous excursions rolled up into the perfect number of days. As the youngest member of the tour, a whooping 27 years old ;), I was delighted at the pace of the tour- there was something for everyone. Each guide was professional, knowledgeable and energetic about their country. We can’t wait to embark on another Distinctive Destinations Tour!

“My husband and I have traveled extensively for the last 20 years, and knowing personally the relationship of Distinctive Destinations with Africa, I would not have considered going to this continent with anyone else. We spent 17 days with them in Kenya and Tanzania and we were not disappointed. Each day was carefully chosen and planned to maximize this truly ethnic experience. It was full of information and experiences of cultural, historical, political and personal significance. This type of trip can only be planned by someone who knows a country and a people very well. Small personal details were attended to as well as the larger overall planning. This was personalized service along with a great deal of knowledge, information and experience. This is a trip we will never forget. ” Don and Eileen Wesson

“Kathy-Thanks for another great travel year in 2004., From Arizona to the Copper Canyon in Mexico to Sweden and Denmark-you were so helpful to try different schedules and search for the best price and itinerary to meet my needs. I have been around the world using your services since 1990 and you are always there to help--whether someone loses a ticket or wants just one more change in the schedule. I've even been able to get help from one of your travel colleagues who backed you up when you were off traveling to check out new destinations for us to go.” S. Westaby

“Over the years my wife and I have visited over sixty international destinations. We have used the services of several tour companies, and quite a few travel agents in our travels. I can recommend some of these and some I would not recommend at all, both companies and agents. I consider our experience as qualifying us to pass judgments on tour companies and travel agents. We rate Kathy at Distinctive Destinations as the best.” L. Mooney

Dear Kathy:
What a fabulous trip to China! We saw your article in the Sacramento Bee and, with a bit of trepidation, responded to your advertisement. Despite the fact that we do not choose tours as our primary mode of travel, we decided that it was prudent to investigate your services when considering our first trip to China. We were so pleased with your knowledge and experience that we even persuaded 2 other couples to join us. From the outset the experience was a pleasure. The articulate guides, excellent hotels, good food and choices of destinations reflected your superior organizational skills. It went so smoothly and effortlessly that we were able to devote all of our time and energy experiencing the magnificence of this great country’s cultures and ethnic groups. Being able to fly between major destinations was a wonderful advantage since we were able to spend valuable time actually visiting a variety of significant locations and still have time to walk the ways and byways where we stayed.
I have recently learned that our enthusiasm about this trip has encouraged another 2 couples we know to join your next China tour. Congratulations, Kathy. This China tour has gained us new friends and a lifetime of memories. What a wonderful experience.
